    • Dr. Patrick J. Farmer

      Dr. Farmer received his B.S. degree in Chemistry from UTSA in 1988, a Ph.D. in Chemistry from TAMU in 1993, and won two nationally competitive postdoctoral fellowships, an NSF-NATO fellowship in 1993 at Ecole Normale Supérieure, Paris and an NSF Fellowship at Caltech in 1994. He started his academic career at UC Irvine in 1995, receiving tenure in 2001, and full professor rank in 2005. He moved to Baylor as Professor and Chair of Chemistry & Biochemistry in 2009.

    • Dr. Ravi Kumar

      Murugaeson Ravi Kumar is a Research Associate in the Department of chemistry and Biochemistry. After completing his PhD at Indian Institute of Technology-Kanpur, India , Institute of Industrial and Scientific Research, Osaka University and Freie University-Berlin, Germany; he was a postdoctoral associate at University East Anglia, Norwich, UK and JSPS postdoctoral Fellow at Osaka University. Later he was postdoctoral research associate at Louisiana State University, Baton Rouge (Prof. K.M. Smith) and University of Arizona (Prof. Ann Walker). He joined Prof. Farmer research group in the spring 2006. His current research involves chemistry of HNO reactivity towards heme and non-heme proteins.

      Carrie Poe is a 2010 graduate from Stephen F. Austin State University. Her studies include melanin and metal-melanin complexes for possible use in dye-sensitized solar cells, and CO2 uptake by biomimetic dinuclear compounds.

    Michael is a 2014 graduate from Texas State University. His research is in hetero substituted maltol complexes and their application towards heavy metal chelation and melanoma treatment


    • Ottis Scrivner

    Ottis Scrivner is a 2015 graduate from West Texas A&M University.  His studies include investigations into disruption of copper homeostasis using copper ionophores as treatment for melanoma.

    • Samuel Winsten

      Samuel Winsten is a junior University Scholars major concentrating in Biology and History. He works as a leader and trainer in the Baylor Univeristy Supplemental Instruction program, and plans to graduate in 2017 to pursue a career in medicine.
    • Daniel Blackner

    Daniel is a senior ACS certified chemistry major. He is the president and coach of Baylor Fencing Club, and plans on continuing chemical research in graduate school after receiving his degree in 2017.

      Born and raised in Chicago, IL, Jana Brusek is an undergraduate Biology Major at Baylor University, where she plays on the Women's Volleyball Team. She is graduating in 2018 and planning to pursue a career in pediatric medicine.
